Aeolian Legend
Aeolian Islands
Sailing between fire, wind and sea
The Aeolian Islands offer a truly dreamlike setting. Majestic, imposing cliffs rise from a clear sea with crystal-clear waters, reflecting a moon-like landscape by night. These extraordinary islands captivate visitors with their rich natural heritage, their historical and cultural legacy, and the mythological atmosphere that surrounds them.
The archipelago takes its name from Aeolus, the undisputed god of the winds, and is composed of seven islands scattered along the north-eastern coast of Sicily. Often referred to as the “Seven Pearls of the Mediterranean”, they are renowned for their exceptional charm.
These are ever-active volcanoes, and as one approaches them, it is impossible not to feel the irresistible urge to explore. Panarea, the smallest island, offers a vibrant and glamorous nightlife. Vulcano is famous for its natural pools of warm therapeutic mud. Lipari, the largest island, is known as the “White Mountain” due to its pumice stone formations. Salina is the green island, while Stromboli appears as a towering black giant crowned with a plume of fire: at sunset, the glow of the volcano becomes visible, creating a spectacle unlike anywhere else in the world.
Alicudi and Filicudi, the oldest islands of the archipelago, remain unspoiled, each offering an extraordinary and untouched beauty.
